Dubai Based ABC Technique FZE to Build 'Silicon Africa'

The African version of the famous Silicon Valley will be built by a company based in Dubai, the new valley will be called 'Silicon Africa'.

Tunisia Economic City signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with ABC Technique FZE to allocate, design, build, operate and market Silicon Africa on an area of 1.6 square kilometers (160 hectares or 1.6 Million square meters) within the new city on the eastern coast of Tunisia.

Silicon Africa will host state of the art platform for Information Technology and Internet of Things (IoT) built on the latest cutting edge technologies in building and supplying materials to serve as a gateway between Europe, the Americas and Asia on one side and the African continent on the other side both ways to exchange technology, train Tunisian and African youth in the IT and IoT field, and will contain data centers, servers, residential and commercial complexes, and all amenities, including an exhibition center to showcase the latest inventions and innovations.

The project is estimated to cost approximately $300 Million to be raised by ABC Technique FZE and its international partners and will be the home of the regional offices for the world's leading giants in the IT industry. Silicon Africa is another PPP (Public Private Partnership) project under the Tunisia Economic City, which itself is a PPP as well.

Planning is underway since few months and commencement on the ground will be later this year 2016.
